I got some viruses in my computer and my daughter did a complete system recovery. :x I lost everything that I had saved in my favorites and my pictures. I had some stuff backed up from a while back . But not my recent pictures and quilting instructions that I wanted.
If you have some favorite sites that you use for quilting ideas, could you please share them with me????
I will be so greatful. Elaine

I am so sorry that you got hit with a virus. I use the Norton 360. It is a big dog program and so far, so good with them. Kinda pricey, but worth every penny.

This is the moda free pattern page

http://www.unitednotions.com/un_main.nsf/free_patterns

and thier moda bakeshop is way cool.

Of course there is always the fabric sites, most all of them have nice patterns, for free.

Then there is allpeoplequilt.com and the quilting magazines. Like McCall's and quilts and more.

No matter how many bookmarks I create, when I'm looking for something I always start with a search through Google, but here's the site I use the most since it leads to so many other places.

I know how devastating it is to lose so much carefully collected work, yet there's a part of me that says - how lucky to have a fresh start and not be faced with the seemingly endless clutter that my files seem to have morphed into.

Thank you , also there were some sites that had charts or instructions and measurements for cutting different size setting triangles; does anyone know which one that is?
I have Trendmicro antivirus, which was very good and caught alot of them , but my son had used my computer to check his emails and something in his garbage worked its way through my computer.

Use Google bookmarks! It saves every bookmark and you can access it from any computer. It's free. Also Box.net will give you free space to store any type of files and pictures. jAlso Mosey is free. Enough free space online to store all your stuff. You can pay for extra storage but I found I don't need it. I store all my pics on Picasa album and photobucket. They are all free storage, enough for tons of files, and if my computer crashes I don't have to worry about pictures, quilt patterns or bookmarks being lost.
Check the links and resources page here, lots of great websites listed there.

Just a thought, but that happened to me a few years ago and my son got a new harddrive and transfered everything on to it minus the virus. Can you do that? I wouldn't know how to do it, but he does computers for a living so he knows. hope it works.
one of my favorite sites is: www.BOMquilts.com

Ooooh sorry about your computer. :x
I'll give a few sites that I frequent.
I don't know how to put the site in to just click on so this is just what to type into google.
Bluemountainquiltersguild, clothworks, fatcatpatterns, DebbieMumm, madquilters.
Hope this helps a little.

my bookmarks are categorized, so if you can give me a clue as to what you're looking for i'd be happy to help you. like blocks, fabric sites, whole quilts, resources, tutes, etc.i would copy and paste 'em all. if it works that way. or list them. whatever. 100's.
