A mystery quilt is a quilt where you follow directions one at a time, but you do not know what the finished quilt will look like.

You are only given instructions in installments, you sew each set, but... you have to wait til the whole quilt is finished before knowing what it is going to look like :D:D:D

I usually do not like mystery quilts. You start with a list of fabrics to buy and usually light-med -darks and sometimes a background. I just want to know what it is gonna look like.

I have taught several mystery classess and I must say you have to let go and just go with the idea and trust your colour judgement.
If you like planned quilts then you will not enjoy a mystery. But they are fun

I like the Mystery quilts but do agree it's a bit challenging trying to find the colors for the quilt when you don't know how it's going to turn out. But all in all....THEY ARE FUN!!!

I have just started a mystery quilt through my LQS. This is my first time doing one and I am not real sure about it, yet. I am a very visual person and not knowing what the finished product should look like kind of bothers me. But, it sounded like fun so I am trying it. We got all the fabrics at the start and every other week we will get more instructions in the mail.
