Default I really need to read the directions.

I am making a Cabin in the cotton quilt. Yesterday, I spent three hours putting on the last few logs on 18 blocks. Squared them up and then decided to read how to finish it up. That is when I noticed that in bold print it says that the last two logs were from the background fabric. Tonight I will get very intimate will my least favorite tool.....the dreaded ripper. AHHHHH!!!!!

When all else fails, read the directions! I've done that before too

Before you rip, put the blocks up on a design wall. Maybe you will like the way they are now, after all it's YOUR quilt, you don't always need to follow the pattern exactly!

I would leave them, I just can't figure out how to do the finishing triangles to make them fit. This may be the first time I was following directions. LOL!

Finishing triangles? Is this quilt set on point? Can you send us a photo, we may be able to help easily if we can see what you are doing.

I learned my lesson about not thoroughly reading directions! Now I have all the 5x2 1/2" strips I need to do something with.

I keep reading and rereading the directions on the Jinny Beyer quilt kit I am making for fear of something like that happening. I don't have time to rip. It is for grandsons's HS graduation in June. Keep us posted (with pics) on what you decide to do. Like they said make it your way.
