Wondering what the rules are for the fabrics used in I Spy Quilts. If one fabric has many objects, is it OK to use it more than one time?

The quilts are just supposed to be fun for kids (or for adults who act like kids). No rules!

The rules are that you make it the way you like it. Some I spy have all different fabrics, some repeat fabrics, some I Spy Quilts are thematic like Holidays,Patriotic, girl or boy etc. and some have two of each kind to make a game like Memory.

I made several and some repeat fabrics and others don't. I am just now getting to the point of collecting a large enough variety to make some small I spy quilts without repeating too many fabrics.

Baby quilt with no repeating fabrics but several regualr prints, flowers/checks since I had no kids prints.

Many repeating fabrics and one lone white shark hiding. Kind of like Spy the Great White Shark game.

Made out of FQ and scraps with many repeating fabrics.

Mommafank: THE RULES are it's your quilt you do what look good to you. Have fun and forget the rules. "Sorry if that don't sat well with some."

You can make your own rules AND you are allowed to change the rules. Just have fun.
