I taught my hubby how to use the computer and he always wants to get on it when I'm on...... so I don't think I will let him learn to use my sewing machine... I would never get to use it... LOL
As for the bobbin, tell hubby that IS part of sewing. Have him do it while you are watching. I'll be he can do it, just doesn't want to... isn't that how they are. LOVE em, but they sure can be frustrating too

Buy him a Sidewinder, several packages of bobbins and one of those bobbin keepers. Either the little round ring or the stacking kind.
Do the two of you fish? Does he bait your hook? If so, continue to put the bobbin in for him. If he made you learn to bait your own hook then make him learn to put a bobbin in. HOWEVER, if he has very large fingers putting a bobbin in could be quite difficult. Especially if he did or does a laborous job and his fingers are calloused.
Then again, maybe he just likes you being close and likes the attention he gets by having you do it. Or maybe, like mine, he just likes to be aggravating. :lol: :lol:

i totally love this idea, and totally agree!!!
as for large fingers, if that should be the problem, long tweezers will do the trick. let us know how it goes!! :-D

Send him for classes, lol. I would not like sharing my machine and I think if he had his own with a MANUAL (men are really good at figuring things out and it would be his own machine) he would learn to fill bobbins, clean it, etc.
Maybe a nice birthday gift or Christmas present?

Just do it and look at it as something you can do together.
I think I would like it if my husband would try it, at least we'd have something in common besides our dd. Right now the only thing that he would want to do together would be to fly RC planes. To me that's about as boring as can be. I'd rather sit in a field and listen to the corn grow.
