    it looks wonderful. You have repositioned the patches perfectly! Personally I would put a narrow goldish border on to stop the eye and then a bit wider black border to complete it. If you are concerned about 'squaring it up', you could make both the gold and black side borders just a bit wider. It will still look balanced and add a bit more width. Remember THERE ARE NO QUILT POLICE, you have done a great job and with each new project you will learn new techniques and improve your skills. The most important lesson to be learned is to have fun doing it! When it stops being fun and starts being work, you will not complete the project (we all have one of those UFOs in our cupboards).
