They brought back the fabric section! Before it was just two small rows with sewing notions, a couple machines, and craft supplies. I went in this morning and they have a ton of bolts, batting, stuffing, supplies, and a cutting station!

I know a bunch of people have been calling to try and get Wal Mart to bring back the fabric sections- apparently it's working

We never lost ours, but the selection and quality has been so poor, I haven't shopped purchased fabric for 2 years there. I see it only because I buy yarn in the same section.

We never lost ours, but the quality is not as good as in the past, and the price is very high for the quality.

We're getting our fabric dept back very soon. I wanted to do a happy dance and shout "sewers unite". When it was announced that Walmart was taking out the fabric depts and it was reported that the CEO. made the comment that "sewing was a dying art". I made a tablerunner using all Walmart fabrics and monogrammed a label for the underside saying "Sewing isn't a dying art! In memory of all the Walmart fabric depts. Date: Jan 2007". I almost sent the tablerunner to him(President of Walmart) but decided I liked the runner too much and didn't want to part with it.
Think I need to make a second label to put on the tablerunner, put something about the fabric depts. coming back. Chris
