Hi!

I have a opportunity to make quilts and other things for this new market. www.silvertonmarket.com
The owner is not charging me a booth fee, the only expense is getting there and I am not very far away from it. Last week was the opening week, and there were 12 people.. What are items I can make that will be fast fun and sell well? Also, tips on display? I do my quilting and piecing on treadles, and I have a treadle there for show - and to use as well.

Any suggestions or tips are much appreciated :)

I don't know about quilted items, but I think novelty pillowcases sell very well.
Good luck.

There are lots of simple ways to make small tote bags, aprons, pillows... they usually sell well and are quick to make. Find some really beautiful fabrics that will be eye-cathing.

I know this isn't quilting, but I just found a pattern for stuffed snowmen and they whip up really fast and are very cute.

How about baby bibs and soft toys, eyeglass cases, tissue holders, cosmetic cases, tote bags in all sizes, pillows in all sizes, Christmas tree ornaments. It depends on how much table space you have and how much wall space to hang things.
Good luck !!

Thinking out of the box: maybe you could make up some kits. Pre-cut the fabric for a simple quilt top or wall hanging; put it into a ziplock, or project envelope along with instructions; include your card with an offer to line and quilt the item for $___.

Other kits could include simple aprons, pot holders, pin cushions - things you are familiar with and would be comfortable supplying typed-up directions.

and fat quarter bundles!

Lovely pin cushions made like short, fat snowmen.

If you live near where they have Civil War reenactments, aprons and sun bonnets will go good. I used my Grandma's sun bonnet as a pattern for a sister and a daughter, they were so authentic that other women tried to buy them off their heads.

For one of them I used an old, washed out dress I got in a yard sale and was able to make it with a waist apron.

Aprons with a Christmas tree on it with pretty decorations, all washable. Children's matching aprons.

A fleece blanket for a baby, one corner with an added triangle sewed on to make a cap so baby won't get cold and big enough to throughly wrap up an infant.
