I thought of doing a bed quilt for my niece's wedding last Oct. After thinking more & talking to my SIL, I did a sofa quilt for them. They seem to go with any decor. Colors in the bedroom could change & then the bed quilt wouldn't match.

Oh, I really like Blahels idea. A couch(snuggle) quilt and a photo album with instructions to take a family picture each year on or near their anniversary. That could be their first family tradition.

How about a skirt for a Christmas tree? If she likes contemporary more than traditional you could pick some subdued wintery fabrics in silvery gray or soft neutrals. If she likes traditional, you have lots of choices. There are lots of free patterns online.

Thanks for the great ideas, everyone! I thought she was getting married this fall, but it turns out she is planning for 2018. So I have some time! I do like the Christmas tree skirt idea in silvery/light blues.

Bed runners seem to becoming popular. They are similar to a table runner only a bit longer so that it would hang over the edge of the bed. You could use the same fabrics as the DBR which would complement it. Perhaps then a throw pillow to toss toward the bed pillows. Good luck. You have some great ideas here from your quilting family.

If you have already made her a quilt, maybe you don't need to make another gift. Perhaps choose something from her bridal registry and buy it?
