....stop by The Quilt Corner! What a wonderful locally owned quilt shop!

My husband had to take his tax stuff down to his accountant today so the kids and I decided to ride with him. I didn't even think of it but he suggested when we got down there that I should look up a local quilt shop to browse through. (What a wonderful hubby I have!) There were several online that I would have liked to visit but since the kids and hubby were going to be staying in the car, I didn't want to drag them all over town. I decided on The Quilt Corner because they had such a nice website and were close to where we already were.

I was first greeted by a large display of LSU fabrics and finished quilts. You can't expect anything less in Louisiana, especially in Baton Rouge! :) They have a wonderful selection of fabrics, lots of new prints and designs, but also a large selection of reproduction prints. They have a whole wall with nothing but folded up fat quarters. It looks like a bunch of mail box cubbies and has all the fat quarters neatly arranged by color. They have a TON of patterns. I could have spent hours just looking at the patterns. One of the owners offered up her help right away. She helped me find several reproduction prints on the fat quarter wall, and then let me know she would be more than happy to cut fat quarters off any of the bolts. It was a very nice shopping experience all around.

So if you're ever down that way I'd highly suggest stopping in. I know it'll be a for sure stop on my list the next time we're down there!

Thanks for posting this. I'll be down there on Thursday and am planning on hitting at least two shops, I'll include that one.

I'm headed that way the end of April, Festival Internationale de Louisiane and JazzFest...have added it to my LA shop hop list...

If you get to New Orleans try BaBa Blankets...beautiful and very colorful fabric...not cheap...first saw them in CA...
