Domestications.com. They have extra wide sheers for like $8.00 a pair. In a million colors. I sew all my curtains, but not sheers. Way too slippery and I have zero patience. God bless you for trying this.

I have Roman Shades in every room but kitchen and bathroom, it's much easier, doesn't overwhelm the room, and I don't have to change them. I'd rather be quilting. :D

I HATE doing home dec. projects, especially the larger ones so I buy ready-made whenever I can. I am almost finished a full-sized bed skirt because I simply could not find what I needed on-line or in the local stores. Also, I had the perfect piece of fabric in my stash, both the exact size & color I needed. I'll finish it up as soon as I can find the energy and ambition to take the mattress off ... again ... to check that everything fits as it should.

Hope your window treatments turn out well!

do you let the draperies hang for a few days before you hem them? i was always told to do that-but is it the same with sheers? i hope they turn out for you. sending good thoughts your way.

I feel your pain!! My DD wanted me to make custom drapes for her dining room(6 windows), living room(2 oversized windows), her daughter's bedroom(2 windows), and their master bedroom(2 oversized windows), all with the black-out lining attached!! She better keep these drapes for the rest of her life, lol!!!

a "friend" referred me to her friend that was looking for someone to make curtains for her-simple rectangles w/lining. i said yes-how hard could it be? but when her fabric came in, the dye lot made it unacceptable. she picked out new stuff and it was a tapestry fabric! i had to match the large scale print and set up two big tables to lay it out. what a job! she was happy with them, but i will never ever do it again. and i told my friend to not tell people that i can sew anything. (not that i told her i could in the first place)
