Are you saying the unfinished portion not on the design wall will be a purple? do you have enough of your focus fabric to replace the purple with that? I think it is beautiful so far and will be lovely if you complete it even with the purple. The white is a perfect canvas to show off some intense quilting.

You could also ask if anyone on this board would like to have it to finish. I'd be first in line. I think it is lovely, but if you finish it and find you still don't like the color blend you could pick up some fabric paint or markers to add some interest to the solid patches to get the gradation the way you'd prefer. It should be easy, given the random pattern in your print patches.

Please don't talk yourself out of finishing this! Your fabrics go together amazingly well, and there is such good contrast between everything -- even the white that seems to bother you too much. If you ever sit on a beach and watched the waves as they crash to the shore, you will see the blue and green and aqua colors in your quilt as the sun reflects off the water. The white reminds me of the foam on the water. I can definitely see the movement of the waters in your magnificent quilt. Please! Please! Please! Take a break from it, yes, but do finish it.
Sometimes I try to act "normal," but it gets boring so I just go back to being myself.

White would be considerably toned down if the quilting were done in green, blue or teal. I personally find that an extremely attractive quilt, both colors and pattern. Good luck with whatever you decide.

LOL I like it. I was thinking you might want to trade with me for an unused kit from Connecting threads but it has a similar problem, lots of white with not blue but pink. I see what you are saying about the colors. I do like the look of repetitiveness but it can be overwhelming and endless to work on. Maybe just work on it 20 minutes a day or just lay it aside for now. Quilting is supposed to be fun!

Agree with Emma....it is going to be stunning when it is finished. I would also consider having different project to do when it you weary of it. It doesn't matter how long it takes.

Okay for me the green does not flow. The blues are all playing nice. I would replace the green with pale blue or lt and medium yellows. Then allow the blues to flow. For borders I would do yellow at the top left then flow the colors around the center. I would bind in dark blue. I would also work on one block a day. Only one a day, you will be surprised how quickly it gets finished. Then reward your self by working on something you love to do every time you work on it. Luann

I think it looks great, when I first saw it I thought, wow what a quilt! It is up to you, but I bet you will love it when you get it done. Good luck

Another thought, you could whack it up into smaller pieces and put it back together again for an art project.

I think this is looking great. I love a quilt with lots of white, and there's no fresher combination than blue and white, imo. If you think you really won't want to continue with it, maybe give it to someone who does like it and will finish it?
