If your finished block will measure 6 1/2 inches. I would buy a 6 1/2 inche square ruler. A 6 X 12 or a 6 / 24 are hard to control when cutting small pieces of a block. Donna

6 1/2" x 24" and 12 1/2" square

Since I bought my 6 1/2 x 24 ruler, I seldom use my 6 x 24.

My favorite brand is Creative Grid and second favorite is Omnigrip.
