Anyone have any tips on quilting with invisible thread? I really want to try it with a chevron pattern but
dont want to ruin my wonderful top Help please.

It can be very hard to work with, espically since I have trifocal glasses now! It can be hard to see where you have all ready quilted, but can make a very nice looking quilt. I don't use it on quilts that will be used since it tends to make the quilt stiff.

i have a spool that i have not used yet. i've read here on the board that one shouldn't use nylon, and that is exactly what my spool is. i can't recall what the other type is, sorry

Make sure it comes off the side of the spool, not the top.

Personally, I don't want anything to do with the invisible thread. I don't want it in my clothes or my quilts.

I've used it with the "hand quilting stitch" setting on my machine and have been pleased with the results. Two of the quilts i used it on are in constant use and washed regularly. It has held up very well. I don't remember what brand, but it came on a cone not a spool.

some machines like and some don't. I try to use it when I don't want the quilting to show new design - in otherwords just dimenional quilting. However, sometime it works in my machine and other times it doesn't.
The other is poly thread. Supposed to be easier to quilt with.

Not a good idea to use invisible thread. Nylon thread is not heat resistant

I use it for wallhangings and only when I SID...

I use YLI Wonder Invisible for quilting almost all my quilts and have never had a problem. I use the stitch on my Viking Rose that looks like a hand stitch, especially around appliqued pieces.
