Default Iowa trip

My husband and I just got back from our trip. I have been to 36 quilt shops in the last 12 days, they all were great. But a few really stood out so if you are interested here are my top picks. #1 Jesup Iowa, "Merry's Stitchin" was amazing!!! Dyersville Iowa "Vintage Threads", Marion "The Cottage Rose", Kalona Iowa "Willow Creek", and Cameron Missouri "Crossroads Quilting" There were many wonderful shops, but I would go back to these today if I could, so if you are in their area or not go see them!

Merry's Stichin is out on a gravel road, thought we were lost at first, but well worth the drive

Iowa has some amazing shops. I hit a few when I was in the area awhile back. Just doing my part to stimulate the local economy.

Glad you enjoyed the visit to our state, here in the western part of Iowa there are some really good shops, too. When we visit southeast Iowa, my personal favorites are in the Amana Colonies.

Did you get to visit Pine Needles (it is right by Cottage Rose) that is probably my favorite shop. So big and bright.

I need to go back to Amana, last time I went, I wasn't actively quilting...

Considering I live in NY, I visit a friend in the NE corner of MO, and insist on paying a visit to a small Mennonite store in Cantril.. It doesn't have the brightness of the quilt stores, but it has a nice selection of fabric, and the people that work there are awesome..

We're so glad you enjoyed our state and it's quilt shops. It's too bad you had to come on a year when things are so dry. Nothing looks as it should.

How fun to visit 36 shops! So nice of your husband to do this with you. Did you spend a couple bucks?

Welcome to Iowa and come back real soon! The next time you are Quilt Shop touring, try the little store in Conrad, IA called Hen and Chicks Studio. It is an awesome little hideout for those of us who love to quilt! (I am not affiliated with the store in any way.)
