I put an IPAD 2 on lay away at Walmart but now I wonder if I really want one. I have a great laptop that I do everything with and a wireless printer. I am not MAC savvy so it might be a great learning curve.....oh what to do.

I am presuming you got the $17 one... if its not on paper, you have *nothing* ? Your hard drive will be there until something corrupts it, and its all gone gone gone LOL

I love, love my iPad!! The sketch app is great for practicing and saving fm quilting designs.. My friend in AZ just moved into a new home and by using Facetime she was able to give me the grand tour, an awesome feature; and It's so easy to take along when you travel .

All those pdf patterns-sewing, tatting, you name it. Why print out pages (and pages!) of directions when I can sit my iPad beside me and scroll?

It makes my husband laugh, though-last century's sewing machine, this century's technology, all on the same table.

I use it to read books, mags, etc. Also to play games, for email, to search online, to save documents, etc.

Live on my IPAD. Use it every day for here, eBay, surfing, utube, books, whatever. Need to have an air printer to print. Got one now so that problem is solved. My IPAD goes on all the vacations--easier than a notebook.

Do you mind sharing the names of the quilt apps? I just got my iPad and don't know much about the app part yet. Thanks.

I use my Ipad to read books, play solitaire, watch Youtube quilting videos. Have a couple neat free apps for calculating # of quilt blocks or yardage for a specific design. Lots of cool things coming along all the time. I try to stick to the free stuff or nearly free.

I use my IPad for reading books, the internet, as a recipe book and nearly everything else I use the computer for. I like to play scrabble and card games, too.
