I tested this flannel like blanket at Walmart with actual blocks and they stuck like a charm.

Now I'm home and it's up on the hangers, the blocks fall off.

Any ideas? It's so odd I've been completely just blown away.

I thought I had a perfect design wall for $10.

Do I need to wash it? Rough it up more?

I was tossing it around at Walmart with the blocks staying attached so this is so odd. The only thing different is that it was still mostly folded there. I'll try folding it to see if that makes a difference. Bizarre!

AH HA! Mystery solved! I was using 12" blocks for my test and the one I was trying to stick at home was 16"

I thought I was losing my mind...

Is your hanging blanket pulled too tight, it may need a little wiggle room for the blocks to grab. Just a thought.

It's just hanging there... but now I'm completely challenged by this... I'm going to wash this blanket and see if that improves the 16" block sticking.

    The 12's stick very well.

Is it flat against the wall?? If not, try it.

get some of the basting spray and very very very lightly spray and let it dry that might help with the grabbing. I am probably committing a huge oops but it is worth a shot.

What a great idea! I can wash it if it doesn't work out.

YOu need to smooth the ENTIRE block onto the blanket. You can't just 'place' a larger block on the wall, like you can with smaller blocks or pieces. I just put a partly pieced quarter of a throw, like 24X36. I smoothed the whole thing on and it stuck OK.

I'd return it and get a piece of fleece. I have 24 by 24 blocks sticking nicely to mine right now. My granddaugher used the back of an old piece of tablecloth vinyl from JoAnn's and it held her whole quilt.
