I do not hand quilt, but others tell me Iron on batten is not good for hand quoilting. The glue that is heated and sticks as you iron it on may get lumpy and hard to hand quilt.

Hi Boo
Actually you can use a computer desk if you reinforced the key board draw/shelf. I have the Pfaff Grand Quilter -- one of this new sewing machine that sews 1600 stitches/min. and weights a ton -- and I needed a strong desk; between the wait and the speed I want to make sure I got something strong. With time, I will get another desk for my regular sewing machine. I also plan to have a lucite insert done -- to replace the wooden one –and use it as a light table. Hope you will find something you can use for yourself.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Lucia

I Have used it - a couple different brands. The largest I have machine quilted is a twin size. I didn't have any trouble with it separating at all. It was very nice to not have to watch for pins. There was no needle gumminess or resistance. I hand quilted a large wall quilt, and it also went very smoothly. It was no harder to quilt through than any other batting. Mine weren't stiff.
