My iron died. I had a cordless Oreck and really liked it, although it was kinda heavy, but I was able to overlook that. It lasted about 5 years, so I was pleased with that. Anyone else have a cordless they love or hate for quilting? Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

No cordless here, but that seems like a good feature.

My ideal iron is sold by Home Depot and the Vermont Country store. It is a dry iron and has no holes for the steam. I never use steam and have looked everywhere for one that doesn't have the feature. I find that when I am working with small pieces, the fabric gets into the little holes of the iron and wrinkles. Also, most irons with staem leak after a while. I use a spray bottle instead.

I have a Euro Steam iron. I bought it at a Sewing Expo a few years ago and paid $212.00 for it. At first I didn't like it, but since I paid so much for it I made myself use it. Now I really like it, especially for garment sewing. You control the steam, you can use a shot of steam or turn the knob for steam all the time. It is not a cordless. I have the Oreck cordless, but didn't think it stayed hot enough, long enough. I would love to have the one from Vermont Country store, but maybe later on that one.

I have a cordless and it's a Shark. I use it all the time. I prefer it to my Rowenta. Hope this helps!

my cordless is so big and heavy I won't use it for quilting. I went to the second hand store and bought a nice white brand that doesn't shut off, doesn't spit water, doesn't cool down and is really HOT...love it LOL
