Default ISO baseball quilt ideas for adult quilt

Hi
My cousin loves baseball and I would like to make him a baseball themed quilt. BUT I want it to be an adult quilt (he is almost 60) and I am looking for suggestions. I don't want it to look juvenile...help! LOL

A very simple and fast baseball quilt idea.

This is actually the backing for a childs charity quilt, but it really looked nice. At least, it did to me!

You could find some nice baseball theme fabric and do a whole cloth quilt with it. Depending on how much work you want to do, I've seen one in green grass fabric and it's just the empty field with the bases, dirt and lines appliqued on. You could also applique blocks with all the snack food from the ball park, hot dogs, cracker jack, popcorn etc. embroider "Take me out to the ball game..."

That sounds like a cute quilt, Tartan. I need to do a baby boy one, anyone have suggestion on fabric for it?

I made a baseball quilt for an older gentleman last Christmas. I used a Take 5 pattern and I felt the fabric didn't "scream" baseball. He loved it and I'm sure I saw tears in his eyes when he opened it. I'm making my first attempt at posting a picture of it - wish me luck.

Love the quilts...I have several nice bb fabrics to make quilts for my grandsons and they range from 21 down to 20 months. I bought (actually from QB members) fabric that ranges from antique kids bb to the MBL so there is a fabric combo for all ages. I think I'm actually going to make one for me to take to one of my grandson's games when it is still cool in the evenings. Actually, guess I better make one for my 4yo DGD as she's decided to play baseball this spring!! LOVE IT!
