where you take a panel and cut in into focus blocks and then piece blocks around it so it is a larger scene. Someone on here has posted some beautiful pictures (birds I believe) and, of course, I forgot to bookmark it. Thanks for your help.

I know the pattern you mean, I'll look and see if I can find it, it was in a magazine I think.

It might be called a fractured image quilt, but I'm not positive. You might try a search above. I did a search and several things came up, but wasn't sure that's what you meant.
