    Issues with hand quilting fleece?

So I'm sure you think I'm crazy for hand-quilting fleece but I don't machine quilt and this is a for a baby as a donation quilt. so I wanted it to look nice but I'm having issues putting the pattern on the quilt, I was wondering if anyone has ever hand quilted fleece? Since my backing is white cotton fabric I thought I would flip it over and put the designs on back but not sure if the stitches will show up as well on the front. Any advice on this one?

I've heard of people putting the pattern on tissue paper, then attaching the tissue paper, and quilting through that. I think the paper would pick off fairly easily.

Hand quilting fleece would not be my first choice. The stitching is not going to show all that well on the fleece but will show on the cotton side. For that reason I would quilt from the cotton side so the stitches look nicer on the cotton.
