It is that time of the year again, the end of summer. For some people that might mean Fall is coming, and it is time to bring in the summer furniture and pack away the grill. Others might start to think about bringing out the sweaters and sweatshirts for those cool evenings when the sun goes down. Either way, time for those extra chores means less time with the needle and thread.

So for all you quilters, how do you make time to do your stitching?

I enjoy multi tasking and seeing things get done. I do outside work for a time while the sun is out and the temperature is great. Then I move inside and sew for awhile. By multi tasking I am able to get a lot of things done, use different sets of muscles and have less soreness and down time then when I would just do one thing for a long period of time.

I get up at 0430 and get my chores out of the way before work, so that I only have to worry about dinner and hobbies after work.

Because we both have demanding jobs, we also have Merry Maids come in every couple of weeks.

Here in Phx. it is still over 100 degrees outside.
Air conditioning on and fans blowing, time to quilt.
Winter is the time to be outside so we are not in sync with most of the country.
Retired also and quilt whenever I want to. But energy level not what it used to be so lots of breaks and reading time.
My daughter asked me what ever happened to the mother with the clean house. Like gramajo, I dont clean house. I quilt.

I don't seem to do much sewing/quilting during the summer because even with AC handling fabric is hot, especially when the quilt top is assembed.

Nice cool Fall day today so I'll be in my sewing room the rest of the morning working on log cabin quilt for one of my granddaughters. Nice fresh breeze coming in the window, nice view of the trees and I'll sew away nice an cool. May in Jersey
