I want to make a quilt for friend that retired from the Air Force.
I need some ideas. I'm a newbie so something simple would be nice.
Also, could everyone please show a quilt that you made for family/friends that are in the armed forces.

Thank you.

When my brother retired from the Navy, he had a lot of patches from different squadrons he was involved with. Maybe you can get ideas from some of your brothers memorabilia?

Here is one that will be delivered this weekend.
The pattern is an easy beginner friendly "Yellow Brick Road"

Making simple blocks in Patriotic colours looks really effective.

Here's my little wallhanging. It would be very easy to make a quilt out of these squares. It had a sunbonnet Sue on the pattern but I made a little Sailor for my Sailor girl. The pattern is called "American Sue".

OMG... I love your little sailor.

My son just graduated Navy bootcamp and while he was there I started working on a quilt for him. I've just been winging it and thought I needed to see what ideas I could find to add to his quilt... THIS IS PERFECT!!!
