Default It's Virtual Quilt Day!! Today - Sunday, March 17, 2013

Hi all!!

I am posting this a little early, but I want to be able to sleep in tomorrow morning and didn't want to leave anyone hanging!! Plus the Aussies and Brits will keep this thread lively for us until those of us in the US wake up and get sewing!!

Today is the day!! Today I am hosting a Virtual Quilt Day. There are no rules. Basically I started this because I was too lazy to lug my sewing machine to the local quilt store for an all day sew-in. So I decided to have a home sew in with all my friends through the internet!! Join in anytime you can today. All you have to do is come here when you start and tell us your goals, then through out the day check in and let us know how you are doing and leave encouragement for others! That's it!! If you can only join us for half a day, that's fine. If you are in a different time zone, that's fine. This is just a loose and fun thing!! I find it helps me to sew more if I am joined by so many other sewers as well!!

My goal for today: Do something!! LOL

I haven't been quilting much, so anything I can get done will be an accomplishment for me.

Cheers!
Rachel

I'm going to have to have someone virtually quilt for me on Virtual Quilt day. I'm going to be on a bus for 13 1/2 hours with 33 high school students yee hah! It is travel day for our mission team. We have 9 teams from our school going out of country and in country for a week or more helping people in many ways: feeding the homeless and hungry, working in orphanages, clinics, nursing homes, after school programs, schools, helping those touched by disasters clean up and rebuild, coming alongside missionaries who are helping various people groups etc. gets them out of their comfort zone, focus on others and grow and mature. Will sew when we get back over spring break, but I'll be "virtually quilting in my head on that bus! Have fun ya'll!

I am still up from Saturday, but have been hand quilting all night!! I am going to try to get a few hours sleep if I can, and hoping to finish the quilting and bind this quilt tomorrow...Then off to scrap organization, although I would much rather begin another quilt! If sleep does not come, I will be back at it...Having pnemonia is a pain, since I find I cough horribly and even worse when I try to lay down...at least I have something productive to do!!

Going to work on my "flip flop" row for my round robin. I can't wait to see how it comes out!

Hi all.
Awoke in time for F1 and was so excited to start .Pattern plus all I did during the race in the picture. Going to sew frog down now. Oh don't expect my finished quilt to look like picture as I always do my own thing as I go. If you are not sure what to do can you find the differences so far. ( can't you tell I was a teacher)

I am sitting and relaxing at the end of a long day with a little hand stitching. Working on a double wedding ring with a twist. Had a few opps early on but have it under control now. We had our pumpkin weight in today. Fund raiser for the local tennis club. Lots of fun and laughs in the district over the growing of these monsters.

Well hello everyone. It is 10.50 am here and I am just about to have coffee and a look at the Sunday papers then I shall start quilting my twin quilt (it is one of a pair, the other is finished). I managed to sandwich and baste it yesterday so I am ready to go. I am determined to master posting pictures so I can show you all how much I achieve. I love these VQDs as they really get me focused and I get so much done. Thank you so much Rachel for organising and the early start.

I am going to finish piecing my plus sign quilt. I didn't follow the direction precisely and thought the quilt would be a lot bigger than it is. Still wondering about putting on a border. What do u think?
