I have the 6600 and the 11000- both with the knee lift. I don't seem to use it as much as I did when my 9000 was my main machine. The 6600 sits in it's table and the 11000 sits on top of a table- the knee lift is not as convenient. I was disappointed because I love that feature on Janome. I am going to definitely try the pool noodle idea if I can't adjust the lift. Thanks for that great idea!

I have the Janome 6600 and I'm only 5'. I have no problem with the knee lift - in fact when using my older machine I try to use the knee lift - LOL. My machine sits down in a table I had made to fit.

Mine is in a table and I LOVE the knee lift, can't live without it.

Hate the knee lift anyway. I'm too short and to get close enough to the darn thing I'd be sitting in the sewing machine. It sits on the shelf. I never got used to it so I don't miss it.
