I have the opportunity to buy a used Janome 6600P machine in almost new condition for $800. Any comments on the price or the machine will be appreciated.

Great price - I love mine, but you have to make sure it is always threaded properly.

I paid $800 plus a trade in for a used 6500 last year so I think you are getting an excellent deal!

Machine has a stellar reputation, that's a good price if it checks out.

I love my 6600! Your price is almost half of what I paid a year ago. If it checks out, you got a great deal.

I have one. I've had to work out some bugs and I still struggle with tension, etc.. but it's ok. If I had it to do again I'd consider a cheaper straight stitch machine with FMQ capabilities--like the 1600P-QC. I'd CONSIDER the machine again if someone offered me a deal like the one you've been offered ( but not for $1600 that I paid for mine new).

BTW, you can get a new 1600P-QC for about $800. Just a thought....

I would buy it, I paid A$2,400 2 years ago. Everything is sooo much more expensive down under. I do like my 6600P it is a great work horse.

Sounds like a good deal. I have a 6500 and really like it. Mine likes Aurafil thread and quilting with the feed dogs up.
