I paid $1,400 for mine when I bought it new in 2011. I love it--use it a lot, and have never had any problems with it. That seems like a good price...IF it hasn't been abused and you are getting it from a reliable source.

is this a private party or a dealer. If it is a shop or a dealer, I would request some sort of a warranty.

I would say that it depends on how old it is and what comes with it. Does it have all the original accessories, any extras like the free arm hoop? I've seen two lately for sale for $850 with extras and that's what I paid for mine. It is a great machine, easy to use and not picky about what threads you use like some machines are. The only thing my machine is picky about is the needle threader doesn't like Schmetz needles.

Recent sold listings on ebay went for around $600, including shipping. If it's from a dealer and you can get classes & a warranty might be a good deal, though.
