Janome embroidery machines. Does anyone have one?
#1
I'm very interested in getting one, I of course started by looking at their top of the line one which was a really bad idea. I'm now looking at some secondhand ones, particularly the 9000, 9500, 9700, 10000 and 10001.
If you have one of these machines or know someone who does can I get an opinion. I will mainly use it to monogram and I'd love to get one that has a big enough opening to do some quilting as well.
Thanks

I know the Janome 6600P has the deeper throat for quilting, but it's not for embroidery. I have seen one of their embroidery machines, but it had a standard size throat, not sure of their other models.
Sorry can't be of more help, my janome is 22 years old, made long before they came out with embroidery machines. :)

I have the Janome 10000 which has been upgraded to the 10001. It is very user friendly and does great embroidery. It has a larger harp area than my Pfaff 7570 and better lighting. Comparing the embroidery process between the two, the Janome is a lot easier to operate. Please post if you have any other questions.

Hi, I have a Janome 9000 and also the 10001, My 9000 is ten yrs old and I love it, have many cards that go with it. But the 10001 is only one year old and I also like that one. I can hook it up to the computor and emb. many designs with it. But the important thing here is your dealer. You need good service with whatever machine you buy. It does not have a large area for quilting big quilts like some of the machines do. Because machines are pricey you really need to do your home work. Marge

I just picked up my 10001, I'm itching to use it but I promised DH I wouldn't touch it until my exams were over. That's next Saturday (Dec 8th), I'll be dreaming about it I'm sure.
Just had to share the exciting (to me) news.

Congratulations, Cynde! I hope you enjoy it.
Mine broke, so I won't be doing any embroidery for Christmas for the second year in a row. I got mine for Christmas last year, and it broke before this one....
Mine was a Brother. I hope you have much better luck. :D

Shoot, that is cruel and unusual punishment!!! I think I'd strike and refuse to fix dinner for a week or something!
Seriously, I'm excited for you. The machine is a work horse and the embroidery is so user friendly that it doesn't take long to learn. Please post if I can help in any way. If I'm not mistaken, they include a CD/DVD that instructs on use as well as the books.
Have fun (when you finally get to use it) sewing!

And, good luck on your exams. :D

Dinner, DH was supposed to be cooking all week anyway, since he's off and I'm supposed to be studying.
He goes back to work Saturday, and my last exam is next Saturday morning, so as soon as I get home I'm playing with it, and I just may get so involved that I forget to cook dinner then LOL.
