Default My Sister is So Generous!

Sue called me over to her house this afternoon. She said that she was going through her fat quarters and wanted to see if I wanted some. She has boxes and boxes of these quarters that she has bought over the years. I got there about 1:15 and left at 3:50 with a bag full. When I got home, I counted what I have.

    52 fat quarters
    5 half yards
    and
2 full yards, one of them little panels of falls scenes, such as pumpkins and scarecrows.

GORGEOUS stuff, and all the good quilt shop quality. Right now, I am making her a Tumbler lap quilt with Christmas fabrics.

I wish everyone could have a sister like this.

Very nice of her and also smart. There is not point in holding (hoarding) onto so much fabric when there are people who would actually use it.

I have a sister and niece, just like that. Last spring my sister sent me a gorgeous queen size Fan quilt and pillow shams she made me. It is stunning with some embroidery and even bead work. Her daughter has a long arm and quilts for me, and charges very little. They live in Oregon so don't get to see them often, but the miles between us, do not affect how close we are.

Before my sister died, she made me a collection of water and rust colored batiks, about five yards total, from cotton tablecloths scavenged from thrift stores.

Yes I have two like that--always willing to share what they have. Needless to say, I am the same. I wish we had more times of rummaging thru eachother's 'tickle trunk' (scrap box) and finding treasures. But they live 1500 miles away and I do not get to see them enough.

My sister and I are the same way with each other. Although we live 12 driving hours away we Facetime with each of us in our sewing rooms and quilt together during the school year and sew, fabric shop and take classes together during our summer visits. She's my best friend and quilting buddy

my sister and i are like that with each other. And we live next door. we spend alot of time together. sew together, work together on projects. we are redoing her bathroom now. spent the day tearing out drywall and redoing some insulation. she cuts all the grass, i do the weedeating and heavy stuff since she tore her bicep. it works out well.
