Default What do you think this machine is worth? Viking Platinum 770

Hi all,

First, thanks so much for helping me out! I have been perusing Ebay and have found a Viking Platinum 770. I'm not sure if I can post the listing here, but I'll try... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Husqvarna-Vi...item27c44fcac5 I hope that's not breaking forum rules.

Is $500 a fair price, way too much, a bargain? I really don't know! Does anyone HAVE one of these machines and do you like it? I also wonder what size the harp is.

Thank you!!!

That would just be the starting bid. It'll probably go higher. I can't answer your questions about it's worth. You can always ask the seller a question about the harp size. Good luck!

This was the best info I could find on the 770, and it is actually about the 750, but talks about the 770 at the end. If you like the machine, I think the price is fair. I wish there was more info out there on it. I can't even find the harp size listed.

Thanks to both of you for your input! I really appreciate that review on the 750. Looks like it would actually be a better machine for quilting than the 770. Gives me something to think about. I'm also strangely considering a vintage Viking 6460. I think I may go crazy before I finally decide on a machine!

Here is a link to PatternReview.com. I actually found around 17 reviews on this machine. What is really nice about this site, is the reviews are from actual owners and they give you the good and bad about the machines. Hope this helps in your decision.
Looks like this was a very expensive machine when brand new...Good luck.

Also, you can review almost any machine out there on this site. It is very complete. I used it alot when I was looking for my new machine.

I love my machine!!! I find I never wish it had other features, or that something doesn't work right like my other machines did. I will be happy with it as long as it works. I have never measured the harp, but if you don't get any responses to that question, I could go in there and measure if you pm me and let me know.

I wanted to see what they said about it at pattern review, but it wouldn't let me on as a new member, and it said I had something wrong, yet they have no information for me as being on before. I've had the same email address for at least 10 years. Oh, well.
