I got mine as a Christmas gift last year and I love it. Not able to make comparison with another machine as I only had a singer featherweight (which i still have) before the Janome. You might be interested to know the Janome website have a forum with lots of great information for users and as for FMQ a lot of people have found it helpful to buy the alternative fmq foot - http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...8High_Shank%29
I would want to know why the seller is selling.... and the only other concern would be if it has been maintained as it should. I have seen people state they haven't had to take their machine in and thats ok but should be reflected in the price in my opinion.

I have this machine and love it! I bought it new judt over a year ago for $1199. A great deal from a local sewing shop.
Its not caused me a lick of problems at all. I piece and fmq on it all the time. In the past year I've msde 8 quilts on it. I'm a very very happy customer.

Thanks to all of you for responding to my post. Some of you have given me some things to think about especially those of you who have received deals from dealers. The machine I am considering comes with the table and the person selling it says it has been used very little. But some of the deals some of you received at a dealer causes me to pause. Again, thanks to everyone.
