Default Jelly Roll Friendship Braid ?

Hi. I plan to make a lap quilt using the frienship braid pattern from the Jelly Roll Quilt Book. I have the sherbert pack of bali pops from Moda. Has anyone used these colors to make this pattern? I have a couple of questions. One, I am having some difficulty sorting the strips into light/dark. Most of them seem dark to me. Any hints? (This quilt is for a little girl--I have the fabric so I want to use it up... I am hoping it looks little girlish) Second, how do I find specific photos on this quilting1 board? Is there a search mechanism to find photos of this pattern? Third, do you pre- wash your strips? Thanks!!!!!!

Just go through and look at the ones you thought were first dark and compare them with each other so that you can add them to your lights. Don't prewar the Jelly Roll. As for finding photos, I'm not the one to ask. 😃

if you have any red glass [i use a square vase], you can see much better which are lights and darks.

Just go up to the search box (left of the magnifying glass) and type in, for instance, "friendship braid"

I found this one using batiks that is really nice. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t179878.html

There are people who wash jelly roll strips by hand. Some have to because of allergies. I don't because of shrinkage and it is simply too much extra work for me.
