I have been printing quilt labels with my laser printer using freezer paper and muslin. They look so cute! BUT when I wet them, the printing comes right off. I know that I've read about using this method. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Maybe a laser isn't the answer? Thanks for any info. Fortunately I've only used this method a couple of times but I'd like to use it always if I could just figure out what the problem is.

This is a little instruction and you suppose to use Bubble set jet to soak your fabric that keep you ink from removing read this what i found and also google it

I'm not sure, but I thought I read that only ink jet will permantly print on treated fabric. I have used Bubble set and printed labels on my ink jet printer, and it seems to work fine. Maybe there is a way to do the laser print.

I have two ink jets and both wash out. My Epson is suppose to be water proof for photos and they demonstrate a photo in a jar of water and does not bleed. But it does not stay in fabric. I think bubble jet is the only answer. No easy to find in store, you pretty much have to order it online.

I've had some....I emphasize "some" luck" when I heat set the label with an iron on the highest heat setting. I did several and they worked out just great...so...of course, I got a little cocky with it. I did a label and didn't check it for color fastness before I sewed it to the quilt. Of course..after I quilted it and washed it...the label was blank

nanabop... you mentioned that you use a LASER printer - I think the BubbleJet is only meant for INKJET printers. This was copied from a sight talking about printing on fabric:
"Laser printers: Because they use heat and pressure to print, printing on fabric with a laser printer is not recommended".

i am sorry you are having a problem with the printing i can tell you from experiance i have been there i finally figured it out after reading alot of differant sites and trying differant ways now i am making my 4 th picture quilt first of all i had to get a differant printer i bought a epson stlus c120 printer because the ink it uses is suposse to be water proof ( just to let you know the ink refills are exspensive so i only use this printer for material and use my other for paper and other odd jobs)
at one time i used bubble jet 2000 and the bubble jet rinse but that was a pain in the butt to use the bubble jet 2000 ( unless you have time to soak the material in this before printing and letting it air dry then iron ) so i skipped that step and went to Jo anns and bought precut 200 thread count Pima cottonin white material on a sheet for printing it is called Printed Treasures it comes 12 sheets for about 40.00 i just print on it then wait a minute peel off the backing then soak the picture in bubble jet rinse mixed with cold water then ran the picture under cold water to rinse it ( do not wring)air dry, iron and sew it in a quilt !!make sure you only let the picture sit a minute and not more before peeling other wise it is hard to peel let the picture sit about 10 minutes before putting in the bubble jet rinse hope this has helped you let me know how it worked out for you
one more thing when the picture is in the rinse kinda swish it around i use a ruler cause the water is cold on my hands but dont let the picture fold or wrinkle up use a big pan so it can lay flat and has room to swish
