It is so nice to hear something positive about JoAnn's. I have not had any trouble with my JoAnn's here in Appleton, but I understand that is not the norm.
Thanks for posting something normal. :D

That is unusual that someone at JoAnn's cut a little extra for you. At our JoAnn's here in my little town they sure don't give you any extra. I worked at JoAnn's for a short time and it was pretty much a company policy to cut right on. I had worked in other fabric stores and in those we always allowed at least a thumbs width extra. You was lucky to have a good cutter!!

That is just great to have a saleswoman like her. I also had a good experience with a sales gal in the Wichita, Kansas store, when visiting my kids and grandbabies. What an enjoyable shopping experience that was. I even wrote a letter to the management and said how wonderful this lady was

Thank you for sharing. That was a very nice experience. If I get a mature female clerk who is an experienced seamstress.......then I get "full measure". They even leave the bolt neat and even, too. prejudiced???? you betcha bippy

I live in Humble TX and love the Jo-Ann's there. I call it the crack house.

I love my Jo-Anns. I have had several positive experiences.

Last week a young 20-ish mother was buying some orange netting to make a Halloween costume for her baby who looked about 9 months old. She handed the bolt to the cutter and the cutter asked "How much?" The mother said "I don't know. I don't sew." She explained what she wanted and the two cutting women not only figured out how much she needed but also told her how to construct the tu-tu.

Another time, I had fleece cut which made a big mess on the cutting table and my other fabric. The cutter produced a sticky lint brush and proceeded to de-lint all of my fabric.

There is nice customer service at my Jo-Anns!

I have noticed that Joann's cutters are cutting an extra inch. Even here in CA.

Wonderful experience for you. It would be so nice to have all the clerks be this helpful. We do have some nice gals at our faric stores but it is the bad ones that leave the feeling of not buying from them in the future. Don't kniow why but I have had nicer experiences from the younger gals than from the older ones. And I am not down on older people because I am one myself!
