On January 2nd, I returned an AccuQuilt Go with receipts in hand to JoAnn's because the tension or something was wrong with it. I could barely cut a piece of paper in it, it was so hard to turn the handle. They of course did not have any others in stock so I asked for a refund of over $250.00. I really wanted it in a gift card but they could not do that nor give me cash, which I would have turned around and spent in the store. They said Corp. would send me a refund check in two weeks.

Well, here it is almost 4 weeks and no refund. The wonderful ladies that work at JoAnn's cannot get anyone at Corp. to answer their emails or calls. They gave me the hotline number and of course, I just get a recorded message.

I asked the shop gals if the delay and poor response was due to JoAnn's being sold and they said not really.

So, beware of returning anything to JoAnn's if you do not get a refund at the time. My boss Googled JoAnn's refunds and I am not the only one with a problem.

Thanks for the info. ..... and hope this gets resolved soon. It makes me think I don't want to buy any costly item at JoAnns.

I'd say it usually takes 6-8 weeks for refunds so hang in there.

Wow! I don't think that sounds too fair! I thought if you paid cash for any purchase anywhere, the store had to give it back to you the way you paid for it. Such as credit card, it would have been credited on it, a gift card would have been put back into a gift card for that particular store, and always have received cash back for a cash purchase. Doesn't sound right to me! Just my opinion. Sorry about your troubles with JoAnns. Seems like they are really going downhill alot lately!

it's not just them, my brother in law bought $100 of stuff at a big chain home improvement store, paid cash, and 15 mins later realized he didn't need it after all, had not even left the parking lot, took it back inside and had to wait for the main office to mail him a refund check.

I think from now on I will use my charge card. I think they have to put refund back onto the card used. That has been my previous experience anyway...

I'm sorry you're having this trouble. It seems to me that they should have issued a gift card instead of making you wait for a refund from corporate. Hopefully you will get it all resolved.
