I so enjoy reading everything I can on here. The variety and sincerity of answers amaze me. The biggest relief I get is that no one seems to have THE ANSWER.

Prewash? Yes, definately. No, never. Depends.

Fleece backing? Of course, do it all the time. No way, no how!

Quilting? Hand, of course. Machine fancy. Machine plain. Tie the thing!

What a relief that is! Personally I look for the answer that affirms what I wanted to do anyway and deem it the RIGHT answer!

I've decided that we are all on a journey with our quilts. Some of us are in different stages of the journey; others are traveling different roads; some travel solo; some travel in groups - but, we are all headed the same place. A place that allows our creativity to flourish, our families to be warmed, and our love to show. How cool is that?

I think the greatest thing here is that we all realize we are not alone on this crazy journey. My grandson laughed his head off when I told him I had joined a "chat room" as he called it. He said, "Oh no! Grannie is going to be too busy to sew for us now that she is addicted to the computer!" He is 16 and is not allowed to join facebook or any of the others. But seriously, I have learned so much here now that I have all these new "friends".

Good analogy. What I love about this board is that on quite a few occasions, my journey was heading down a rocky path and some helpful soul headed me off at the pass and sent me on a better way. I hope I can do that for someone else along the way.
