Juki HZL 29Z/27Z - Any Comments?

Does anyone have either of these machines? If so, are you happy with it? I'm interested in a small mechanical (not computerized), quiet, smooth machine with just a few stitches besides straight stitch. I have the Juki 2010Q and absolutely love it, but occasionally need to do a zigzag stitch. I have a Singer Stylist and a Singer Quantum Stylist that I do like but after piecing on the Juki for weeks, the Singers are like driving tractors in comparison. Particularly with the Quantum Stylist, I also have to go through a small new learning curve and get out the book every time I get it out because I don't use it much and it has so many options and is so different than the Juki 2010Q. I'd like something small, simple and quality for occasional use. Or does anyone have any recommendations besides the small Juki machines?

I do plan to go to a quilt show in Atlanta in March and if I don't have anything by then I'll see if I can find something there.

    Thank you,
    DebD800

I have the 27Z. It's a good little machine, but quiet it ain't. That's the only thing about it I don't like.

Thanks for the info, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Guess I'll keep looking.

You might consider one of the older vintage Singers....some of them do zig-zag and MOST of them are much quieter than the new machines.

Try out all the DSM your feet will allow you at the show. Buying a sewing machine is so much like buying a car, you have to take it out and take it for a ride. I just might pack some small quilt sandwiches. Have FUN!!
