I really like the ones from Creative Grids. All those yellow lines on the Omnigrid rulers give me a headache! What I look for in a long ruler is one that begins at 1 inch on both long sides. I had one, which I threw away, that had one long side at 1 inch and the other side at 1/2 inch. I was always making mistakes when I had the ruler turned to the 1/2 inch side. After years I finally just threw any rulers like that into the recycle bin.

I know what you you mean about those yellow lines.
I find them so distracting, makes me more challlenged than I want to be. Whoever decided yellow was the way to mark the rulers, please tell me your reasoning why YELLOW was used!!! I've seen the rulers marked with orange, but never used one. I hear they're easier on the eyes.

I almost always double fold my fabrics, so I use the June Tailor Shape Cut for most of my cutting (as long as the pieces are in 1/2" increments), or I use my 12-1/2" square. I found that I made too many mistakes cutting the full WOF because of my short arms (I am only 4'11" tall).
The best thing my DH ever did was step on my 8-1/2" x 24" ruler. He felt so guilty that he gave me the money to replace it, and I bought the 12" x 18" Shape Cut. Then my son cut the broken ends off, so I got two shorter rulers (7-1/2" and 14").

I checked my local Walmart earlier this week. They don't carry a single June Tailor anything. That ruler is not available on line either. I haven't seen it anywhere but in a kit.
I'm another that hates the yellow of the Omnigrids.
