dearest board members: i participate in all kinds of swaps on this board....i love waiting for the surprise i am getting in the mail....i am always as quick as possible to let the sender know that i have received the package, and a heartfelt thanks goes with it....if at all possible, i post on the appropriate thread.............i would like to remind people who participate in these swaps, to AT LEAST, let the sender know their package has arrived.......i know that not everyone will like what they are getting in exchange for their swap, and a thanks may not be in the works (I CANT EVEN IMAGINE!!!), but let the sender know the package has arrived........thanks........gina

I agree, just a simple thank you or an acknowledgment can make the world of difference..

I have a quick question. I'm fairly new to this forum and did a trade last month. I sent a member fabric and she's sending me a handmade item. I mailed and rec'd notice that she rec'd the package, which I had mailed almost immediately. I still haven't rec'd my handmade item. How long should I wait before I PM her? It's not been quite two weeks, so I don't want to seem too impatient.

Don't wait too long. If she has sent it, she may think you have gotten it and are not acknowledging her. The mailman will have a better chance of remembering the package the sooner you ask.

I guess it would depend on the homemade item. If she had to wait to receive your fabric before she started on it, then 2 weeks might not be enough time. If she was using fabric she already had, you could drop her an "I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it" PM and let her know you are indeed excited about waiting for her item. You could also mention you can't wait to show it off and wondered if you would be able to show it to "so and so on such and such" a date. That way you wouldn't be giving her a deadline but she hopefully will let you know if that date is a good date.

IMHO :)

I've been extremely lucky with all my trades...yours included :-D
