Kaffe Fassett's V&A Museum Quilts - Dark Floral Columns

    Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping you can help me please!?

I've scoured the internet to try and find the fabrics used for the Dark Floral Columns Quilt in Kaffe's V&A book. Does anyone know please?? It's not listed in the book so i'm assuming he didn't use his own fabric line? I also know it's an old book so the fabric may not be available anymore but I wanted to try my luck..

Quick background - I'm a beginner in quilting but have always loved sewing, knitting and other creative crafts. Unfortunately, I don't have a great imagination and am more of a copy&paste instructions kind of person. If I see something I like, I want to make an exact copy. Not my own interpretation (which usually goes wrong!)

    Thanks in advance!
    Mouks

Not familiar with the quilt you mention and I don't have that book. Is there somewhere we can see a picture of it?

You know, you can email the designer as well.

I bounght the book, Three Times The Charm by Me and My Sister's Design. I emailed them because they didn't list who the fabric lines were by. They took the time to email me back each design line and designer name for each quilt in the book. And, it was done in an extremely timely fashion. At the time I bought the book, it was near impossible to find the used fabric lines. As they were older fabric lines.

But, I truly wish you luck. Maybe try a coordinating jelly roll or other precut fabric line would aid in matching fabrics.

Oh wow! I didn't think of contacting the designer at all! Thank you very much for the suggestion! Will give it a go if I don't get very far on here!

The description under that photo says he used fabric from his August Rose collection for 3 of the strips.

Going to read this book over - but thank you guys for your help!

Apologies for being such a noob!

No problem Mouki, sometimes we miss seeing what is right in front of us. (guilty as charged, sheepish grin) Have fun planning out your new project.

Appears that some stores still have it available on the internet:

Good luck in finding what you need.

The August Rose range of fabrics are still available from many sources, including ebay.... One seller has it at $9.98 a yard. Good luck with your quilt and don't forget to post a picture of your finished quilt.

    hugs
