    I seldom buy kits. When I do, it's because I love the pattern and I want to practice it before I use my chosen fabrics. I do the kit as it is, finish it and make notes along if I want to do something differently. Then I pick my own personal choice fabrics to make the next one "my quilt".

    The problem I see is the white on the outside of the orange, it is too white. Try a paler yellow or orange and see how it goes.

    A true kaleidoscope has many bold colors in it. That's what make it so entrancing.......if you mute, blend too much, you lose the look.......it becomes a color wash......jmho

    I would rplacd that bright orange with the peachy tones that are used elsewhere.

    that bright slash of collr seems disruptive to me
    too.

    I think yellow ( even a subdued yellow) would also be too bright.
