I bought 2 different prints today and they both had color defects on them about the size of a pin head. Its nothing I cant fix with a sharpie but enough to get an additional 20% off

I've also had alot of flaws in fabric. Now I hold them up to the light before I start cutting to avoid a flaw in the middle of something after it's sewed together...

it's a good idea to do that in the store, if you can. I have found some horrendous defects in "first-run" fabric. Esp. necessary if you are using it for backing or borders, and can't cut around the flaw.

I wash my new fabric first. I iron it on the wrong side and have caught a few oopsies that way too. Thankfully not many.
