Hi from Anchorage. If you're traveling here and have time, I'm available to escort you to the local quilt shops. Many tours have one day free in Anchorage and that gives plenty of time to make it to four shops in the area. PM me if you are coming this way. I'll use any excuse to go shopping again and I'd love to show you our great stores.

I plan on staying as long as I'm alive...it's wonderful here. WE have two good shops in town plus a couple of others with fabric but not big ones, then three more within 40 minutes in Wasilla and Palmer, then, if you want to go the other way, there's one in Seward, Soldotna, Homer and Kenai...Homer is a little far for a day trip, but the others are possible in one day...and I forgot on in Cooper Landing which is on the way to Soldotna/Kenai/Homes.

Yep! we've got great ones. I"ll give you a tour when you get here.

That is very nice of you to give new Alaskans tours of the quilt shops. The Kenai Fabric Center is just overwelming.
I had lived in Alaska for 54 years before moving to N Florida, The last 6 years in Seward, which had a very small quilt shop. It served the purpose. There was a small quilt shop in Eagle River too, don't know if it is still there.
I just wish that there was a quilt shop closer than 50 miles.
