Default Kindle and quilting books

I just found a book, Sweet Celebrations compiled by Lissa Alexander (highlights Moda bake shoppe designers) and I can order it using my Kindle. Has anyone downloaded a book like this on their Kindle? Just wondering how it compares to the actual book 'in hand'.

I really like my kindle but I prefer technical books in hand. I can lay them down for 15 to 20 min and come right back to the place I stopped without having to reopen the book and finding my page again. That's just me, I also take the quilt books I really like into our local office supply store and have them turned into spiral binding, so they will lay flat.

I have downloaded several quilting books. If the book has patterns or templates you can print I would go hard copy. Otherwise go for it.

I do both. I prefer neither as. I find they are both very good. From kindle can print patterns off directly. I love the way you leave kindle it st witches of. Put always on the last page you were on. Books close up and have to go searching. Also kindle books are cheaper and can have 2 for every paper copy. I'm as made about books as fabric .

I like to read stories on my kindle, but my quilt books are all paper. I want that book in all it's glorious color, and on my bookshelf! Sometimes I will get a free sample of a quilt book on my kindle, though, and then decide if I want to buy it in paper form.

I like quilt books in paper, too. Almost bought a Kindle version of a quilt book on mastering colors, but luckily realized (duh) that it would be useless in black and white! The free samples on Kindle do help to decide on eventual real book purchases, though.

I have an IPAD and a Kindle and HAD TO HAVE a quilting book one Sunday night (you know how that is!). I had previously downloaded a book of quilting designs to my IPAD, and even though the quilting designs were just line drawings, the book downloaded in color. When I downloaded the new book, however, it downloaded in B&W. You could not figure anything out from the illustrations because of the small size and the lack of color. I wound up rebuying the hardcopy version.

I would never get another quilting book downloaded to my IPAD or Kindle!

I prefer printed quilt books so I can photo copy the pattern and write on it which fabrics I am using and where and make notes in case I use the pattern again.
