40 weight thread needs a large eye hole on the needle. Use a 14 or16 size when you quilt.

King Tut is my favorite quilting thread. It stands out and has very nice colors to choose from. I have never had any problems with it. Its a little pricey so I do try to save it for quilting only .. that's when the colors will show anyway

I am a fan of King Tut thread but for quilting only not for piecing. One of the nice features of Superior Threads is if you flip the cone over it there is a sticker on the inside that tells you the recommended needle size.

I love using King Tut thread for quilting. I mostly use Auriful for piecing but love using the King Tut and variegated threads for my quilting stitches.
Just bought 4 more large cones of it at Road to California quilt show.

I like the weight and I like my quilting to show. I think the darker the color and the heavier the thread, the more lint produced. I have used Aurifil 50 wt. thread but I'm not a big fan.
