I am making some baby blankets and want to serge the edge with pearl cotton in the loopers. I have used pearl rayon (same weight as pearl cotton) and it works well, but it comes nicely wound on a spool. The pearl cotton is just wound on a short tube. Has anyone tried using it directly from the tube, or do I need to rewind it onto a regular thread spool? Thanks for your help!

I would think that as long as it unwraps easily from the tube, you would not have to re-wind it on a spool. I have used heavier threads from a tube on my serger and had good luck with it.
