I'm really impressed! I have not used Kona black fabric before. I prewashed it, using Retayne - but it looks like I didn't need to bother, because the wash water had absolutely no traces of color. Is that due to the Retayne, or is it because the Kona fabric is so good? Perhaps one of our Retayne gurus knows the answers. Either way, I'm doing m happy dance!

I like the Kona fabrics. I have used the black before with good results too. crafty_linda_b

I buy Kona black and snow by the bolt. Sometimes there can be a slight difference in dye lots

I like the feel of kona and the way it irons so nicely... One of my favorites for solids.. So far no problems on my quilts..

I, also buy Kona black, white and snow by the bolt. I have never had a problem with them bleeding. The black is a very dark black.

I used a kona red on a tree skirt once -- it bled like...blood! It kind of ruined the tree skirt, and I learned my lesson about reds.

When I use Retayne there is typically some color that is shed into the water. ...But I do a pretest for running and bleeding before I use Retayne ... as not all fabrics are bleed/run.
Did you use the 140 degree water?
