Label Idea
#1
Okay, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this before, but when I thought of it, I felt like a GENIUS!
I wanted to do a label for the little quilt I just finished for DH's cousin and his new wife, and I wanted it to be neatly done. Usually I freehand labels with a pigma pen and they end up kind of crooked and sloping, etc.
I don't have a lightbox, and I don't have an inkjet printer, so I couldn't trace with the lightbox or just print a label. Oh, and of course it's night, so I can't use my window for a lightbox.
I ironed the fabric onto freezer paper. Then I went into my WP program and wrote up the little blurb I wanted on the label, centered it, found a font I liked, and used my monitor for a lightbox.

I have gotten in the habit, mainly because it's special to me, of printing out either s baby picture or a wedding picute or what every the reason for the quilt is,printing it out on photo fabric. I then can hoop it and would have slready had specisl fonts and information laid out and then with tear away stabilizer embroider it out under the phone photo. Then making a small fold over, hand stitch s close blanket stitch to the back of the quilt. Since me skills are just around the lower end of intermediate and happy to be there, it helps to give my gift a more personal touch. Maybe I over do things sometimes, but if it makes the receiver happy well then it was worth it to me.
