    I made a pillow for my BFF DD bridal shower. The fabric is from clothing of BFF mother who passed away last month. I am unsure of how to label it. Should I have the bride and grooms name and wedding date and made by me. Should I include that the fabric was from her grandmother cloths? something like this............

    Jane & Sam
    10-10-10

    made with love by
    Janice

    using Grandma Smiths clothes.

    Is that too long to write? should the fact that it is clothing be included for future generations to know? is including that taking away for their wedding?

    By they way I wish I could post pictures the pillow is BEAUTIFUL. It is 12x16 one top had embroidery on it so I used that for a border. The center was pastels from a color block jacket. I did a sq in a sq. and quilted it with little hearts. I am making a memory quilt for BFF with the clothing she has not a clue I made the pillow. I also made a wedding garter with fabric from a blue nightgown with lace trim.

    I would include that it is made with Grama's clothing. I don't think it takes away from their wedding.

    Yes. Including Grandmother's name is surely a tribute and great rememberance in the years to come.

    "using" sounds a little sterile to me. How about "wrapped in Grandma Smith's love" or "made by Janice from Grandma Smith's fabrics"? or something like that.

    You're right that does sound sterile. Great point.

    I love this group, we give honest opinions, I will change the wording.

    I would put that is made from Grandmas clothes. It adds even more special meaning to it.
